Supporting an individual at a motel or other accom

All responsibility falls to us, so it is important to take precautions and ensure risk and safety is well controlled.

The process

When supporting someone in a motel, our goal is to stabilise support until they can return home or they move to a more permanent placement/home.

Referral

Before you arrive we will have received an overview, referral form, and we gather any additional info. This information is available to you on connecteam when you are allocated a shift. When the referral is accepted, the social worker is provided with your profile and is asked to explain our service to the young person including our rules.

Intro

Introduce your self to young person, explain why you are there and what they can expect over the time you are there.

Site Safety

Please complete the site safety check.

If there is a risk of self harm or violence towards others all sharps, chemicals should be returned to the office or placed in a provided safe. If you don't have a safe please ask.

Support Plan

MindFull has an additional support plan that our Mental Health RN completes from the info she has been provided, depending on the case either she will visit and complete the rest of the gaps or she may ask you to assist.
